Having only recently gotten into the holiday spirit (‘recently’, as in yesterday) I’ve decided to do this tag I’ve seen floating around the interwebs. It’s about time that I finally stop the cleaning, grocery shopping, decorating and stressing so I can focus a little bit more on the spirit of the season…
I’ll admit, this year it’s been pretty hard for me because finances are tight (no shame in it), plus I’ll be spending Christmas without K for the first time in our relationship (yes, our first year of marriage and we have to spend Christmas apart 🙁 *wails*).
I’ve had no enthusiasm for Christmas day to come, but our attitude shapes our reality, so maybe if I act like I’m excited, I’ll finally start feeling that way.
Hope you guys enjoy this tag. Comment if you’ve done it yourselves so I can check yours out!
Happy Holidays Folks!
1. What is your favourite Christmas film?
Love Actually. Love is actually everywhere. I firmly believe it. I feel like that movie was made especially for me. I’m going to make some time to watch it today or tomorrow… so I can cry like a baby because my love actually is on the other side of the ocean, but also to remind myself that my mother, father and siblings – those crazy, complicated characters – are right here with me this Christmas and I also have a profound, unwavering love for them….
2. Do you open your presents on Christmas eve or Christmas morning?
Christmas morning! Are you kidding me? I think it’s illegal to open Christmas presents before Christmas day. If it’s not… then it should be.
3. Do you like to stay in your PJs on Christmas day or dress up?
I have to dress up eventually, because we usually go out and visit other family members on Christmas day… but part of the Christmas eve ritual is putting on my absolute comfiest set of PJs and I try to wear them for as long as possible on Christmas morning.
4. If you could only buy one person a present this year, who would it be?
My hubby, K. Shopping for him is ridiculously hard, but nothing makes me happier than watching him soak up love and attention and presents when I give them to him.
5. Have you ever built a gingerbread house?
Nope, not really a part of my culture… :/ Do you do this for Christmas?
6. What do you like to do on your Christmas break?
Rush around in a panic, buying presents, cooking, cleaning… lol… Okay, I don’t like to do those things but it’s pretty much all I’ve ever done. I don’t know any other life! Also, I don’t really have a Christmas ‘break’. Being self-employed pretty much means that I never have a break. I’ve actually spent the past 4 days neglecting all social media and trying to pretend that Christmas wasn’t coming because I had a massive medical translation to complete…
7. Any Christmas wishes?
Well, I know I can’t get what I want the most sooooooo…. nope. I’ll try to be a better girl next year Santa! I promise!
8. Favourite Christmas food?
Pastelles! Food of the Gods. You can leave out the raisins and olives though… *yuck!*
9. Candy cane or gingerbread man?
I don’t really like sweets in general :/ Maybe candy canes though… I just like the way they look.
10. What is at the top of your Christmas list?
Boring as it might sound… I’d like to get Sony Vegas Movie Studio lol. I have a YouTube Channel project (more on that another day) and I need some good video editing software. I’ll probably just buy it for myself.
Alright! I’m still a newbie blogger, so I don’t really have Blogger Friends to nominate to do this tag. :/
Wanna be my friend (in a totally non-creepy, non-desperate kind of way)??? If you do, just do the tag and comment below so I know you’ve done it. I’ll follow you and you’ll be among my very first Blogger Friends 🙂
If you read this post and see no comments below, please note that it means I still have no blogger friends. You are free to feel very, very sorry for me! lol
Merry Christmas Everyone!
